PSVR front runner to mainstream
With the announcement of PlayStation VR set for an October release, Sony are in the driver's seat to introduce a massive global audience to virtual reality. The PlayStation platform already has a built in customer base of gamers eager for the next big thing. Sony is about to go above and beyond with the PSVR!
Oculus and Vive are fighting for pc supremacy and Samsung's Gear VR is the king of the cellphone market, leaving Sony ample room to capture the console world. PSVR (formally Project Morpheus) is incredible and more importantly it's fun. Games like "London Heist" are honestly addictive. I was lucky enough to test out a 5 minute version of "London Heist" and I didn't want to stop playing. It was a blast to play and felt most like an actual game. Using the move controllers felt normal and easy enough to use. The graphics were great and there was no motion sickness effect while playing.
The Vive and Oculus may boast better specs and have the hardcore pc gamers hearts but for everyone else PSVR will more than suffice. It's truly a world beater and should be a massive hit with console fans young and old. Priced at $399 it's also more affordable than its pc rivals. It will be available for the PS4 and the move controllers and camera are not included so they need to be purchased separately. When the dust settles, expect PSVR to become the mainstream norm for VR.
